This webinar will take place from 10:00 to 12:00 CET.
IRENA and Aalborg University are organising a series of webinars to present options and existing tools to facilitate fuel switch to renewable energy in district heating and cooling networks in cities.
The main objective of the webinars is to inform policy makers at the national and local level about available options and tools to integrate low-temperature renewable energy sources into district heating and cooling networks. This will build on the ongoing IRENA work on “Energy Solutions for Cities of the Future.”
The second webinar will present the governance aspects affecting renewable-based district energy systems. These include for example regulations governing energy resource extraction and utilisation, pricing of the energy, and financing strategies and options as well as business models for profitability.
